I was born in Odisha, India, and grew up in a modest household where challenges were plenty—but they became the fuel for my ambition. I completed my schooling at Stewart School, Bhubaneswar, and pursued higher studies at the College of Basic Science and Humanities under the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar. One of the most defining moments of my early life was surviving the devastating 1999 Super Cyclone that ravaged Odisha. Experiencing the struggle and resilience of my community firsthand instilled in me a deep determination to overcome adversity and make a meaningful impact.

No internet. No electricity. Just willpower and determination. Right after the Kargil War in 1999, I felt a strong sense of purpose to serve my nation and join the Army as an officer. While many of my peers chose the comfort and familiarity of conventional career paths, I was deeply moved by the bravery I saw on the frontlines and asked myself—what am I really doing at home? That question became a turning point. I began preparing for the All India UPSC–SSB (Combined Defence Services) on my own. I cleared the UPSC written exam in September 1999 and the SSB—one of the world’s toughest Army officer selection processes—during and in the aftermath of the Super Cyclone, when even basic needs were a daily battle. I secured an All-India Rank of 152 in my first attempt.

No coaching. No digital tools. Just the fire within. That’s what willpower and determination can do. When your mission is clear and your intention is strong, no storm — literal or figurative — can stop you.

Today, with all the tools, connectivity, and comfort we have — chasing your dreams is not a struggle, it’s a privilege. When your passion drives you, no obstacle is too big.

I was subsequently commissioned as an officer in the prestigious Regiment of Artillery of the Indian Army. During my tenure, I was trained in military combat, real-time decision-making, and tactical improvisation—experiences that refined my leadership skills in life-and-death situations. I am deeply grateful to my seniors, commanding officers, and fellow officers whose mentorship sharpened my tactical thinking, resilience, and decision-making under pressure. These years in the Indian Army profoundly shaped my leadership, strategic mindset, and adaptability—qualities that laid the foundation for my future ventures.

Following a medical injury during my service, I made the difficult decision to transition from active military duty. I pursued higher education at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), where I completed an Executive MBA. This chapter further sharpened my strategic and managerial skills and prepared me for the corporate world.

I joined Tech Mahindra and spent seven years climbing the ranks from Team Lead to Program Manager. During this time, I led major digital transformation projects for British Telecom (BT), overseeing complex tech implementations, data migrations, and infrastructure modernization. My next role took me to KPN, one of the largest telecom operators in the Netherlands, where I led large-scale transformation and data migration programs. These experiences helped me master enterprise architecture and the fusion of technology with business strategy.

With a passion for technology, sustainability, and innovation, I co-founded Nest Group—a multinational conglomerate focused on shaping the future across multiple sectors. Under my leadership, Nest Group expanded into:

• Xpertnest – A global tech powerhouse delivering AI, IoT, geospatial intelligence, and smart city solutions. We work with leading telecom providers, UK councils, and enterprise clients on private 5G, AI-driven applications, and smart automation platforms.
• Earthnest – Our sustainability-focused venture that champions green innovation, biodegradable alternatives, renewable energy, and climate-conscious infrastructure.
• Gamenest – A next-gen gaming and entertainment brand driving immersive gaming experiences, esports, and AI-powered content across mobile, PC, and console platforms.

As a UK-based British entrepreneur of Odisha origin, I’ve built a name not only for corporate success but also for my deep commitment to community empowerment, innovation, and sustainability.

My journey also led me into media and agriculture:

• Golden Mouse Productions – As Executive Director & Producer, I lead this Mumbai-based production house. Our acclaimed documentary on Maha Kumbh 2025 was featured on National Geographic and other international channels, sharing India’s spiritual heritage with the world.
• Balaji Quality Seeds – As Executive Director, I contribute to revolutionizing agriculture with AI tools, soil testing solutions, and high-quality seed processing aimed at boosting sustainable farming outcomes.

My work goes beyond boardrooms and board meetings. I actively contribute to several causes:

• Public Health – Donated polio vaccines through the Vitality Marathon for UNICEF.
• Cultural & Social Service – Volunteer for Vishv Umiya Foundation and instrumental in helping establish the Lord Jagannath Temple in Bath, UK.
• Pandemic Response – Served as a Royal NHS Volunteer during COVID-19.
• Fundraising – Took part in firewalking to support the British Association for Adoption and Fostering (BAAF).

I continue to champion sports within the Odia community in the UK, empowering aspiring athletes and building stronger community ties. With unwavering support from Nidhi Kar, we’ve helped foster a culture of growth, opportunity, and unity.

Despite my global business footprint, I remain grounded in the values of service, humility, and social impact. My journey—from the cyclone-stricken coasts of Odisha to military leadership, and from corporate transformation to global entrepreneurship—has always been driven by a mission: to turn bold ideas into sustainable solutions that uplift people, businesses, and the planet.

My story is one of resilience, vision, and unwavering drive. From humble beginnings and military service to pioneering multimillion-dollar ventures and driving social change, I’ve dedicated my life to creating impact. Today, I continue mentoring entrepreneurs, leading innovation, and pushing boundaries—turning adversity into opportunity, and vision into value.
